Frustration and Politics

This is my first entry on my first blog.  I'm not really sure why I decided to do this, but with all the others around me doing their 'blog thing' – I was feeling a bit left behind.  So I decided I would NOT BE left behind and create a blog site.

I'm not sure that I really have anything to say that anyone would want to read, but will move forward anyway.  It may just be a place for me to vent and post my opinion to things going on around me, my church, my community, etc., etc., etc.

Politics:  I was glad to see James Dobson weigh in on the presidential campaign.  Too many take 'creative license' with the Bible to fit their needs at the time.  Accountability needs to be brought to the forefront and maintained.  Politicians have for too long gone without accountability for their words and actions.  It would be nice if we could count on our leaders in government to be honest, decent and have integrity. But since that is not the case, how can we break through all the garbage as citizens?

We've been exposed to more than a year already of campaigning for this '08 election. We still have to endure this backstabbing/nasty televised garbage for another 4+ months.  Do the candidates really think that we have to vote for someone?  Why would we want to vote for any of them?  Many citizens are losing their homes, can't pay their power bills, are being flooded out of their homes, can't afford groceries, can't afford gas to get to work and here are the candidates spending MILLIONS on what?Advertising, and poor advertising at that!  Give me a break.  So if Obama isn't going to take the millions from the designated government (the people) funds for the campaign, because he can raise more himself . . . yeah, so much for leveling the playing field. They shouldn't be allowed to spend a fraction of that money.  They need a solid cap and have to make the best use of what they can spend.  Budget! What a concept. And people want to put a person in charge of the country that is such a thrifty spender? Please.  Oh yeah, so far the only side pulling the 'race card' is the democrat side.  We really should keep track how many times the democrats -vs- republicans mention the 'race-card'.  But I sure can guess which one will win.

Another thing on the spending topic . . . why do we spend all that money on primary elections, polls, and ballots when 'delegates' make the decision?  I don't see how our vote counts. NOT!  Yes, I do not understand.

I've always found it interesting that 'educated' adults, (supposedly) are unable to see that the 'divide and conquer' system, is working extremely well although not much else is.

Wow, that was a release!

Now for my heart:  I will continue to wake up each morning and pray for my family, friends, and work on praying more for my country and world (which I don't do often enough).  I do have a tendency of cutting to the simplicity in all things, because I overload if I don't.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Yes, it all comes down to this, and I am most thankful!
